Dr. Mirchandani is a Professor of Music History and Theory at Westminster Choir College of 天美传媒官网 where she teaches a wide variety of courses including music historiography; music since 1900; American music; music and gender; music, humor, and ambiguity; intro to musicology; Wagner; and music theater. She holds a Ph.D. in Musicology from Rutgers University, a double Master of Music degree in Music History and Piano Accompanying & Chamber Music from Temple University, and a Bachelor of Music degree in Piano Performance from Bowling Green State University. Her research interests are American music, women in music, historiography, and twentieth- and twenty-first-century music.
Dr. Mirchandani is the author of the biography Marga Richter published by the University of Illinois Press. She has also written articles published in Choral Journal, Historical Anthology of Music by Women, Women and Music in America Since 1900: An Encyclopedia, The Hymn, Journal for the International Alliance for Women in Music and the Grove Dictionary of American Music/Grove Music Online.
In addition, Dr. Mirchandani has presented papers at the annual meetings of the American Musicological Society and the Society for American Music, and meetings of the College Music Society. She has served as a panelist at conferences of the College Music Society, the Mid-Atlantic Women鈥檚 Studies Association, and the Scholarship of Teaching and Learning; as a board member of the International Alliance for Women in Music; and on the AMS Committee on the History of the Society.
