With the fall semester in full swing, October is filled with events to keep students engaged outside of the classroom as well. The month of October is packed with some great campus traditions and new events.

Here are the top five events happening at ÌìÃÀ´«Ã½¹ÙÍø in October:

Oct. 2-6: Hamlet

ÌìÃÀ´«Ã½¹ÙÍø Theatre will be recreating a Shakesphere classic, Hamlet, in an all-female production for a twist on an epic tale. The show runs begins with a preview performance on Oct. 2 and then runs daily through Oct. 6 in the Yvonne Theatre.

Oct. 10: ÌìÃÀ´«Ã½¹ÙÍø's Inclusive Excellence Plan Launch

ÌìÃÀ´«Ã½¹ÙÍø will unveil its Inclusive Excellence Plan on Oct. 10, from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the Bart Luedeke Center’s Cavalla Room. The plan highlights ÌìÃÀ´«Ã½¹ÙÍø’s values of diversity, equity and inclusion and outlines strategic commitments to advance ÌìÃÀ´«Ã½¹ÙÍø as an inclusive community. It is a product of the year-long work of the President’s Council on Inclusion, a group of committed faculty, staff and students who facilitated a comprehensive process engaging more than 100 faculty, staff, student and alumni members of the University community.

Oct. 11: MAACness

ÌìÃÀ´«Ã½¹ÙÍø community kicks off the opening of the 2019-20 men’s and women’s basketball seasons during MAACness. One of the University’s biggest traditions, MAACness will begin at 9 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 11, with doors opening at 8 p.m. Tickets and ÌìÃÀ´«Ã½¹ÙÍø IDs are required to enter. Tickets will be available for current undergraduate students only starting on Oct. 9.

Oct. 18: Scream Screen

Get into the Halloween spirit with the 107.7 The Bronc's, Scream Screen, an annual drive-in movie event. Students will have the opportunity to park their cars on the Campus Mall or grab a blanket and enjoy a frighteningly fun movie with delicious food and other spirited activities.

Oct. 29: An Evening with Anna Clark

Anna Clark, author of ÌìÃÀ´«Ã½¹ÙÍø’s 2019-20 shared read, The Poisoned City: Flint’s Water and The American Urban Tragedy, will visit campus on Oct. 29 for a conversation with the community.

The Office of Campus Life for Service Learning is hosting a ÌìÃÀ´«Ã½¹ÙÍø Cares Day Beach Sweep on Oct. 16.

If you’re interested in joining Intercultural Greek Organizations, there is a Meet the Greeks event on Oct. 25.

On Oct. 30, The Rebovich Institute for New Jersey Politics will host The Hennessy Family Lecture on Capitalism featuring Dr. Michael Pillsbury, behind-the-scenes adviser to President Trump on foreign policy and trade policy with China.
