The sun rose on a raucous Alumni Gym “White Out, where the Broncs Zoo came alive to cheer the men’s basketball team in an early-morning battle with Stony Brook on November 13.
While much of the Eastern Time Zone was waking up to another sleepy morning, the roof was practically coming off ÌìÃÀ´«Ã½¹Ù꿉۪s Alumni Gym. The historic venue was abuzz, fueled by a high-volume, high-energy student section, clad all in white, that turned out to support men’s basketball in their nationally televised 6 a.m. tilt against Stony Brook. The game was part of ESPN’s 24 Hours of College Basketball on November 13.
That the Broncs fell to the Seawolves, a popular preseason pick to capture the competitive America East Conference, by a 54-46 margin, only tells part of the story for ÌìÃÀ´«Ã½¹ÙÍø. For the second season in a row, the University had the opportunity to showcase itself to a national audience, and the Broncs Zoo did not disappoint, earning the admiration of the sports media from coast to coast.
This is the second year in a row that the Broncs have hosted ESPN at dawn. ÌìÃÀ´«Ã½¹ÙÍø will next meet in-state rival Monmouth on Saturday, November 17, also in Lawrenceville.
