For Benjamin Cohen ’10, there is plenty to a name. A devout fan of ÌìÃÀ´«Ã½¹ÙÍø athletics as a student and now as an alumnus, Cohen’s name now graces the University’s turf athletics field following a naming and dedication ceremony on September 16.

A year after making its debut under the lights, ÌìÃÀ´«Ã½¹ÙÍø’s turf athletics field has a permanent name. Ben Cohen Field was dedicated on Friday, September 16, prior to ÌìÃÀ´«Ã½¹ÙÍø’s women’s soccer match against Temple, a 5-0 victory for the Broncs.
Since opening for play a year ago, this sports venue has been a tremendous asset to ÌìÃÀ´«Ã½¹ÙÍø students, at the varsity level and also for those participating in intramural or club sports, and helps solidify the University’s commitment to student success in and out of the classroom.
During the dedication ceremony, ÌìÃÀ´«Ã½¹ÙÍø President Mordechai Rozanski recognized the many generous donors who helped make this venue for sports a possibility, including Karen and Doug Dykstra and Marge and Carl Reichel, before thanking David and Rhonda Cohen for their naming gift in honor of their son, Benjamin Cohen ’10.
The younger Cohen, who received a bachelor’s degree in Communication, has been long known as an avid fan of ÌìÃÀ´«Ã½¹ÙÍø athletics, particularly of the Broncs’ women’s programs. Attending nearly every home game, Ben’s commitment and enthusiasm set an example for others to follow. His devotion to the Broncs was previously noted by ÌìÃÀ´«Ã½¹ÙÍø’s women student-athletes, who acknowledged him with a special plaque on National Girls and Women in Sports Day in 2010, and they turned out in force for the ceremony, as well.
