Legendary Broadway performer Ben Vereen will visit ÌìÃÀ´«Ã½¹ÙÍø’s Lawrenceville campus as part of a music theater and performing arts master class on Thursday, April 19.

More than 500 people of varied political stripes turned out to hear Republican strategist Karl Rove’s thoughts on the 2012 presidential election. Rove was a guest of ÌìÃÀ´«Ã½¹ÙÍø’s Rebovich Institute for New Jersey Politics.

Dr. Maureen Maguire ’75, a top ophthalmologist at the University of Pennsylvania, and Dr. Aaron Gast, trustee emeritus at the Charlotte W. Newcombe Foundation, will receive honorary degrees at ÌìÃÀ´«Ã½¹ÙÍø’s 147th Commencement ceremonies. Dr. Morten Lauridsen, Distinguished Professor of Composition at the University of Southern California’s Thornton School of Music, will be similarly honored at the Westminster Choir College ceremony.

The lecture begins at 7 p.m. in the BLC Cavalla Room on Thursday, April 19.

The School of Liberal Arts and Sciences 50th Anniversary celebration continues with the Academic Freedom Seminar on Monday, April 9, which will be highlighted by a keynote address from Dr. Cary Nelson, president of the American Association of University Professors.

Student panels and the presentations of the Ziegler-Gee Award and Virginia Cyrus Scholarship on April 12 will highlight the annual ÌìÃÀ´«Ã½¹ÙÍø event, followed by the New Jersey Gender Studies and Women’s Consortium Colloquium on April 13.
