ÌìÃÀ´«Ã½¹ÙÍø welcomed 61 new Andrew J. ÌìÃÀ´«Ã½¹ÙÍø Scholars at its annual Founder’s Day celebration on Saturday, November 5. Dr. Joel C. Philips delivered a stirring faculty address, urging students to rise above a culture that too often values homogeneous mediocrity.

The following is the faculty address presented by Dr. Joel C. Phillips, professor of Composition and Music Theory at Westminster Choir College, at the Founder’s Day Program on Saturday, November 5, 2011.

Navarrow Wright ’93 mentored a group of eight African-American entrepreneurs who traveled to Silicon Valley in order to seek venture capital investments in the CNN documentary ‘Black in America.’ He spoke about the experience at a prescreening of the program on November 10 in the Fireside Lounge.

Since her freshman year, Loni Chasar, a senior Elementary Education and Psychology dual major, has been an active leader on and off the Lawrenceville campus.

The induction ceremony was held on November 5 during Family Weekend.

The third annual Philip J. Albert Memorial Kristallnacht Commemoration will feature a screening of the award-winning film Miracle at Moreaux, on Sunday, November 13, at 3 p.m. in the Gill Chapel on ÌìÃÀ´«Ã½¹ÙÍø’s Lawrenceville campus. The event is free and open to the public.
