The Risk Management and Insurance Certificate program prepares students for the Associate in Risk Management (ARM) designation, otherwise known as the ARMâ„¢ Certification, and can lead to an essential Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU) designation, an advanced professional certification in the risk management/insurance field. It is open to undergraduate students in any major who are interested in the risk management/insurance industry. Current ÌìÃÀ´«Ã½¹ÙÍø business students may count the certificate courses as part of their degree requirements. As the only New Jersey school to offer this certificate, ÌìÃÀ´«Ã½¹ÙÍø works directly with the director of the Collegiate Studies Program at the Institutes to ensure the alignment of the certificate program curriculum with the ARM professional designation requirements.
ÌìÃÀ´«Ã½¹ÙÍø’s 9-credit certificate consists of two courses (MSD 260 and MSD 361) and an internship with a risk management focus. Both courses may be counted toward the ARM TM Certification.
The ARM designation has been proven to boost careers and improve job prospects in the risk management/insurance industry. Students with this certification have a significantly higher chance of securing sustainable jobs.
